Excavate caverns, welcome dragons and build a sanctuary that rewards thoughtful combinations. Wyrmspan is an engine-building game with a fantasy setting, asking you to choose which caves to open and which dragons can make the best use of them.

Spend resources to excavate new spaces, then entice dragons into your growing network of caves. Cards bring different abilities, and exploring the cavern rows can trigger a chain of effects. The order in which you develop them matters because an early dragon may support many later turns.

Each round also offers goals to pursue, but it is rarely possible to do everything. You may want to build out one cavern, improve the resources you can produce or claim a dragon that fits a future plan. Rival players are seeking dragons from the same available choices, so useful cards may not wait.
