Tichu: Second Edition (EN)

Two partnerships race to shed their cards and reach a winning score in Tichu. This classic climbing game combines familiar card-play instincts with special combinations, team communication and the nerve to announce when you believe your hand can beat the table.

Players take turns leading sets of cards that others may beat with stronger sets of the same shape. Passing can be tactical: your partner may be able to win the trick, or you may be keeping a combination intact for a better moment. Special cards add twists to the ordinary hierarchy.

Calling Tichu raises the stakes. A successful declaration brings extra points, while a failed one can swing a round the other way. Even without a call, coordinating with a partner takes attention: the best personal play is not always the one that helps your team empty its hands first.

Tichu is a rewarding choice for four people who enjoy traditional climbing games and repeated play with the same partners. The basic flow is approachable, but learning when to split a strong hand, protect a teammate or make a bold declaration creates lasting depth. Every deal offers a fresh test of timing and trust.
