Six companies are seeking investment, and every player wants to profit from the right ones. Startups turns a compact deck of company cards into a game of reading intentions, building majorities and deciding when to reveal what you have collected.

Players take and play cards while trying to hold the most shares in particular companies. The company you commit to can attract rivals or make them wary. Anti-monopoly tokens and the way cards circulate create further choices about which opportunity is worth pursuing.

The clever tension comes from uncertainty. You can see some of the market, but not everything in your opponents' hands. A company that appears safe may suddenly become contested, and a card that looked unwanted may matter at scoring. Watch who invests, what they pass up and how willing they seem to change direction.

Startups suits groups who like quick economic games with bluffing and a dose of social reading. There are few components to manage, yet each card can alter the value of what you already own. Its short play time makes another round attractive once everyone has learned how the companies and opponents behave.
