Ingenious (EN)

In Ingenious, every tile you place can strengthen your position—or leave an opening for someone else. This abstract strategy game asks you to build lines of matching coloured symbols across a shared board, balancing immediate opportunities with the need to keep all of your scores moving forward.

On your turn, choose a double hexagonal tile from your rack and find a position that connects its symbols with matching lines. A well chosen placement can score in several directions, making the shape of the board just as important as the tiles you hold. Spaces that seem unremarkable can become valuable as nearby lines grow.

The scoring twist changes how you approach every decision: your weakest colour determines your result. Racing ahead in one colour will not compensate for neglecting another, so you must decide when to take a generous score and when to repair a vulnerable part of your scoring track.

Clear visual rules make Ingenious approachable, while the shared board creates plenty to consider from turn to turn. It suits players who enjoy spatial puzzles, quiet competition and finding a clever move in a crowded position. Included solo rules offer a way to explore the same balancing challenge on your own.
